The keen eyed amongst you will have noticed we’ve rolled out a bucket load of new features every Friday, including the most recent additions of Nested Sub-Sections, Mapping and even the exciting BETA releases of our own App Store and Augmented Reality.
We’ve been listening to the thousands of you who have built apps using TheAppBuilder - thank you for all your suggestions. We’ve now picked the most popular and the most exciting, and included them on the Roadmap for feature delivery before the end of this year:
Social Media Integration - As the overall number of apps increase and the effectiveness of “app store search” reduces, social media is coming to the forefront of app discovery. We’ll introduce a range of new features to help you promote your app via social media channels & enable your audience to share your app with their circle of friends leading to more downloads & usage.
Embedded Multimedia - You will soon be able to upload video, audio and file attachments such as PDF into your apps. In addition to really bringing your app to life we’ll store the data on mobile devices for offline usage where possible. We’re sure this will be a hit with tourist guides or any other use case where app consumers have unpredictable data connections.
Custom Icons & Templates - We’ll be providing a wider range of premium icons & enabling you to upload your own custom icons. We’ll also be extending the template functionality to enable you to create templates, sharing them with TheAppBuilder community or privately to your friends or work mates.
In App Advertising - We have some really exciting ideas around mobile advertising. We can’t say much more at the moment, but we’re set to turn mobile advertising on its head!
Apps for TV - With the growing popularity in TV app platforms we’ll be building on our Android TV prototype to make TheAppBuilder the place to rapidly roll out apps for TV.
Like our product, the Roadmap is constantly being updated. We are extremely flexible to the desires and demands of our app building community. So much so that we are now launching the Roadmap Forum, where you can vote on the features you want, and suggest new features to be included.
TheAppBuilder is going from strength to strength and we want to share our plans and ambitions with you. We want you to tell us what we should be working on next. Head on over to the Roadmap Forum and either vote for those features you want to see included in a future release, or create a brand new feature request and invite 40,000+ of your App Building colleagues to vote for your feature.
